RCG flies high at Mid-States Championships:
The Royal Command & Guard took its award-winning show "The Sky's the Limit" to
new heights on Saturday and earned itself the title: 2007 Mid-States Class AA Grand Champions. Twenty-nine bands from Indiana,
Ohio, and Kentucky competed in the MSBA Class AA Championships in Beavercreek, Ohio. During preliminary competition, the RCG
received awards for Best Color Guard and Best Visual Performance, which put them in second place, less than two points behind
Carroll High School. The top 10 bands advanced to the evening's finals competition. "It's going to be a shoot out, that's for
sure," said one parent volunteer from host school Beavercreek. "We've got ourselves two of the best bands around." Along with
the title Grand Champion, the Royal Command & Guard also earned awards for Best General Effect, Best Color Guard, and Best
Visual Performance. A complete recap from the RCG's 2007 is available here.
