HSE Music Mentors is a program/organization where experienced HSE musicians and marchers can help less experienced members or other HSE music students with music and marching.
Currently, there are 4 full instrumentation Concert Band Classes. Students are selected to a particular Concert Band Class based on ability, learning potential, instrumentation, cooperation, and overall musical experience.
All HSEHS Concert Bands perform several times per school year. Each performance is part of the student’s grade, along with regular music performance tests, written quizzes, listening assessments and general musical knowledge.
Each of the HSEHS Concert Bands have earned consistent GOLD RATINGS while performing in the ISSMA State Festival.
The HSEHS Wind Ensemble is comprised of the most advanced wind and percussion musicians from grades nine through twelve. Dedicated to musical excellence, the ensemble strives to recreate the composer’s intent through rehearsals and performances of great vitality, energy and purpose.
Rich with tradition dating back to 1995, the HSEHS Wind Ensemble students have performed at: 2 IMEA State Conventions, 15 ISSMA State Concert Band Finals (State Champion in 2000), The Center for the Performing Arts Palladium in Carmel, The Kennedy Center in Washington DC, Carnegie Hall in New York City
